How do you military gfs and wives (and even bfs and husbands) deal with your loves being so far away?

A friend of mine (well he's more than a friend, we don't have an official title but we love each other and he's been talking marriage) is going overseas in about 10 months and I want to know how to deal with him being so far away. I'm so worried about him already just knowing that he's going to be over there. How do I deal with it while he's gone? If you're in a similar situation...what helps you?

Thanks in advance. How do you military gfs and wives (and even bfs and husbands) deal with your loves being so far away?
my fiancee has been oversees and will be back in january. i work two jobs, exercise, do little things that make me happy. i send him a letter every other day, a care package once a week. i stay busy, and keep him informed. it is so hard, probably the hardest thing. but i couldn't imagine life any other way right now. good luck - it takes a strong woman. How do you military gfs and wives (and even bfs and husbands) deal with your loves being so far away?
Write them everyday! It will make you feel like you are part of their everyday life, plus when yu are so far away you need the support from the ones you love the most to make it through each day. Even if you don't have much to say(or the time to write a long letter) just send a card that simply says ';I love you';. Also keep reminding yourselves that yes everyday that passes is one day further from the last time you saw them, but it's also one day closer to the next time you will. Good Luck
Remember to be supportive! Write him all the time, stuff like that. And also remember to keep your self entertained. Make a life for yourself a side from him. Don't revolve everything around him because that's only going to make you stress and worry all the time. Start hanging with friends more and maybe get a hobbie. You will be okay! It isn't as bad as it seems! Just remember to stay faithful and what not. What helped me most was being around friends all the time, always having something to do instead of sitting around and thinking. Good luck! :)
