How do you grind coffee beans?

Here's the deal: Husband goes to grocery and buys coffee. Comes home and notices he bought whole bean instead of ground coffee. We don't have a coffee grinder and don't want to buy one. Is there a way to grind the beans some other way with common household items? How do you grind coffee beans?
Yep, you can use your blender. Put in a small amount and grind, pour out, measure, and do this until you have the amount you want to make coffee. You can grind it all and return it to the bag, just be sure the bag is sealed or the coffee will lose it's freshness. Be sure to run your blender jar through the dishwasher to remove all traces of coffee or the next thing you do will have a coffee taste. How do you grind coffee beans?
nothing in the house i don't think unless you want to pound on em with a hammer bean by bean!. Usually the store that he bought it at has a grinder in the coffee section.
Buy a grinder for coffee beans.
some stores have something called a magic bullet or something similuar to that and that would grind up the coffee beans for you and it runs somewhere between $25 to $50 depending on where you find them. you can find them at walmart, sears, shopko or any place that sells anything electrical.
No, u should probably buy a coffee grinder you can find some for only $20, or maybe even less. A food grinder would work though too. A food chopper, etc...
You can use a blender or food processor although it won't be as finely ground as using a bean grinder -- which means it might not be as strongly brewed as you would like. To compensate, use more coffee in your coffee machine than you normally would.
use a blender or food processor...or just throw them out and get ground coffee next time
a food processor will work just as well. You just want to pulse it until the beans are as fine as you'd like them. Remember the finer they are the more robust your coffee will be.
I'd go back to the grocery, explain at the customer service desk (take your receipt) and ask to use the store's grinder ... they usually have one available (most stores) that customers can grind their own coffee beans in anyway.

Good Luck!

p.s. if you or your husband decide to return to the store ... make sure you don't need anything else to prevent another return trip for that forgotten needed item for dinner!!!! Giggles.
